Reproduction Sampler
Sarah Boone School Sampler Our first reproduction sampler, the Sarah Boone School Sampler is a 16 page chart complete with historical research by Kathryn Lesieur. This one is a keeper. Available here or from the Museum Shop at the Berks County Historical Society, this is the first in series of 3 reproduction samplers to be exhibited in the Sampler Discovery days in 2005 and the seminar being held in Spring of 2006. It was with their kind cooperation that we were able to chart this important piece. This lovely reproduction is done on 32 ct Wichelt Linen and is stitched with Needlepoint Silk representative of the original colors as seen on the back of the sampler. Part of the proceeds from the sale of the charts are for conservation and framing of the samplers now at the Historical Society. This will help preserve the works of these schoolgirl samplers. Complete with color diagrams and color backstitches on the graph, the chartpack will become a little piece of history about Catharine Weidner's Work from 1838. During the Discovery Days and the Seminar, complete Embellishment Packs will be available. To purchase the chart from the museum, or for inquiries about the Sampler Discovery Days in 2005 and Seminar in 2006, please contact Mr. Harold E. Yoder Jr., Executive Director
